This 66-piece stained glass panel is an original design based on the classic Apollo XI photo of Buzz Aldrin standing on the Moon at Tranquility Base. Look closely, and you'll see a tiny reflection of photographer Neil Armstrong and the Lunar Module "Eagle" reflected in Buzz's visor.
Made as a surprise thank you gift for one of my brothers, I built the panel without knowing if it would be displayed in a window or on a wall (i.e. backlit or frontlit). Constructed in March, 2020, I was lucky that I had enough suitable glass on hand to build a piece that looked good in both environments, as the COVID-19 pandemic prevented me from getting any new supplies from my local stained glass store!
Dimensions: 16.5" high x 12" wide.
